Lucideon to Verify Millboard’s Carbon Footprint

Lucideon has been appointed by The Millboard Company Limited to verify the carbon footprint of its operations

A family-owned British company, Millboard has spent years perfecting an all-weather alternative to outdoor timber. Millboard, its resin composite board, is an innovative product that, unlike wood, is anti-slip and resistant to sun and heat, rain and cold, thereby avoiding the rotting and fading that afflicts wood.

The Millboard Company Ltd, focused on sustainability, is working with a consultant to establish CO2 emissions from their operations. In order to demonstrate its commitment to improving its environmental impact to its shareholders, the company has decided to have its carbon footprint independently verified.

Lucideon CICS is an independent verification body and the leading Greenhouse Gas verifier in the UK and Ireland. Through a mixture of site visits and desk research, Lucideon will audit the CO2 emissions of Millboard’s head office and manufacturing plant, which are located in Coventry and Warwickshire, to the international standard, ISO 14064-1.

Upon successful completion of the verification, Millboard will be able to use Lucideon’s Verified Carbon Footprint Assurance Mark. The Mark signals to stakeholders that the carbon footprint has been independently verified and can be used by Millboard to promote their green credentials worldwide.

Paul Boylin, Marketing Manager at Millboard, said:

“Millboard is focused on continued sustainability practice throughout the company, utilising low energy LED lighting throughout and working with consultants to reduce CO2 emissions from all our operations. Achieving ISO 14064-1 will demonstrate our commitment to improving and reducing our environmental impact to our customers.”
