Ceramic tiles. Determination of resistance to thermal shock.

Overview

A test method for determining the resistance to thermal shock of whole tiles. Thermal shock resistance is determined by cycling between 15°C and 145°C.

Defects are assessed by viewing the tiles with the naked eye from a defined distance and light intensity.

A weak staining solution can be used to aid visibility of defects.
