New Multi-Million-Pound Advanced Ceramics Centre

Lucideon is broadening its capabilities with access to a new state-of-the-art facility, developed to channel new routes to commercialisation in the advanced ceramics sector.

The company is opening-up opportunities for aerospace, defence, healthcare and nuclear clients to put materials innovation on the fast-track, as part of its move to the new AMRICC centre.

Based in Staffordshire, the AMRICC Centre will house a wide selection of next-generation, high-value equipment – bringing together cutting-edge technology under one roof and offering unrivalled opportunities to solve specific materials challenges in a state-of-the-art environment.

The facility will offer adaptable pilot-scale processes, resulting in end-to-end capability through all the steps involved in ceramics and advanced ceramics manufacturing – and Lucideon clients can also draw on the expertise of the company’s on-site technicians, scientists, and engineers, under a consultancy approach.

The move to the AMRICC Centre further strengthens Lucideon’s market-leading position as a development and commercialisation organisation (DCO), specialising in materials technology, processes, and testing.

Richard Goodhead, Lucideon’s Chief Marketing Officer, said: "The AMRICC Centre is a landmark project and Lucideon is proud to be a key part of it.

"From our new base, we will be able to offer a world-class partnership to clients who are looking to take innovative ideas and place them on the fast-track into commercialisation, by reducing the time to market through a unique blend of knowledge, equipment and expertise.

"The centre is purpose-built to support early prototyping and development trials, the development of new manufacturing processes, small scale trials of standard processes, and the production of trial batches.

"This includes developing new materials or products quicker, in better quality, at lower cost, as well as enhancing manufacturing processes or developing new manufacturing methods to make improvements in productivity and performance more economically and efficiently.

"It's a compelling offer for our clients, who will benefit from our unrivalled expertise in utilising these world-leading facilities to bring their products to market more rapidly and economically, and at the same time underpin sustainability and Net Zero goals into projects."
