14 December 2018 Drug-free Antibacterial Technology for Medical Applications: First Cambridge International Conference (Cambridge, UK)
New concepts of Drug-free Antibacterial Science and Technology were reviewed and progress was reported in developing new antibacterial material systems for medical applications. 16-20 September 2018 Brazilian Materials Research Society Symposium: Novel Sintering Processes in Materials Science
Gathering together researchers and students pursuing research on sintering. Emphasis was on the application of non-conventional sintering techniques, such as electric-field assisted pressureless sintering, spark plasma sintering, flash sintering, flash spark plasma sintering, microwave sintering, laser sintering, two-step sintering, and cold sintering. This ‘case study’ seminar examined the processes involved in restoring a Listed or Historic building. Dr Geoff Edgell, Director and Principal Construction Consultant, discussed the role materials testing and analysis plays in regenerating failing buildings.
13 - 15 June 2017 Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy (AMPM) conference at Powdermet 2017 (Las Vegas, Nevada, USA)
Metallurgical and additive manufacturing expert Julius Bonini presented at AMPM 2017. His technical session was titled 'Effect of Hot Isostatic Pressing on Fatigue Properties and Particle Shedding of Additively Manufactured Ti-6Al-4V-ELI' with dates and times TBC.
