16-20 September 2018 Symposium: Novel Sintering Processes in Materials Science
Gathering together researchers and students pursuing research on sintering. Emphasis will be put on the application of non-conventional sintering techniques, such as electric-field assisted pressureless sintering, spark plasma sintering, flash sintering, flash spark plasma sintering, microwave sintering, laser sintering, two-step sintering, and cold sintering. This event brings together scientists, clinicians and industrialists, with different backgrounds and expertise, to advance the field of biomaterials by presenting their latest research, attending stimulating workshops and symposia and having lively discussions during breaks and social events. 9–11 July 2018 10th International Masonry Conference (Milan)
Dr Geoff Edgell will be presenting 'The Rehabilitation of Battersea Power Station' at this conference. The paper will describe the sampling and testing programme used to evaluate the initial moisture profile though the brickwork, and its physical and hygric properties. 11 April 2018 Ceramic Innovation Network (CIN) Event - Ceramics in Society: Demanding Environments (Lucideon HQ, Stoke-on-Trent)
We hosted and co-sponsored this free-to-attend event with the British Ceramic Confederation (BCC). 15 June 2017                     Heritage Building Seminar - The Victoria Quarter Conservation Project, Leeds Beckett University
This ‘case study’ seminar examined the processes involved in restoring a Listed or Historic building. Dr Geoff Edgell, Director and Principal Construction Consultant, discussed the role materials testing and analysis plays in regenerating failing buildings.
13 - 15 June 2017 Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy (AMPM) conference at Powdermet 2017 - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
Metallurgical and additive manufacturing expert Julius Bonini presented at AMPM 2017. His technical session was titled 'Effect of Hot Isostatic Pressing on Fatigue Properties and Particle Shedding of Additively Manufactured Ti-6Al-4V-ELI' with dates and times TBC.
