Ceramics Expo Goes Virtual in 2020
Organizers of Ceramics Expo have announced that they will run 'Connect', a virtual event week that will give the worldwide ceramics community an opportunity to interact, discuss, and attend webinars and roundtable sessions across five days in September. The conference agenda, delivered through webinar events, roundtables, and streamed keynote addresses, will feature more than 50 industry experts, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss cutting edge examples of technology development and collaboration. SINTX Technologies Announces Publication of Study to Reduce the Spread and Transfer of Coronavirus
SINTX Technologies, Inc., an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) ceramics company focused on silicon nitride and its applications, has announced positive testing results demonstrating the anti-viral properties of its silicon nitride which may be useful in the reduction of the spread of COVID-19. The study results demonstrated that SINTXs unique grade of silicon nitride inactivates the SARS-CoV-2 virus within a minute after exposure, and has the potential to decrease the risk of viral disease spread on surfaces. Ceramic Additive Manufacturing Whitepaper Launched
The National Centre for Additive Manufacturing, working in collaboration with Lucideon, has created a whitepaper which defines a route for the UK to create a globally competitive supply chain to service the growing ceramic AM market. The paper identifies key challenges facing the industry, and offers a number of development areas and opportunities for investment to position the UK at the forefront of this emerging technology. Superior Technical Ceramics Hires Industry Expert to Lead Engineering Efforts
Superior Technical Ceramics (STC), a pioneering manufacturer of technical ceramics, has announced that Dr. Kristen H. Brosnan has joined the company as Technology Director. Dr. Brosnan joins STC from General Electric, where she most recently served as Technology Manager for Metals and Ceramics at GE Research, where she concentrated on high temperature materials solutions for extreme environments. Murata Launches New Ceramic Capacitor
Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has developed the worlds first multilayer ceramic capacitor with a capacitance value of 1.0µF in the 01005 inch size (0.4×0.2mm), which is increasingly used in a wide range of mobile electronic devices including smartphones. Find out more here.

Eleventh International Conference on Fundamentals and Industrial Applications of HIPIMS 2020 - New Date
A new date has been announced for the Conference on Fundamentals and Industrial Applications of HIPIMS (High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering) - 8 - 11 March 2021.
