Lucideon Releases New White Paper on Design for Medical Devices

Lucideon has released a new white paper titled ‘Design Optimization in Medical Devices: Materials Matter’.

Written by Dr Richard Padbury, Senior Polymer Technology Consultant at Lucideon, the paper discusses the importance of selecting the right materials in medical device design and development.  Material selection can play an important role in product design and development especially when developing new, innovative or disruptive products that meet regulatory requirements and provide optimal performance.

Richard said:

“The selection of materials is key to developing the right product as it plays such a large role in determining its functionality and performance.  There is a tendency for a lot of organizations to stick with what they know to save time, initial costs and disruption.  Although this seems sensible in the short term it can restrict the potential for innovative change.
