Lucideon to Present at the 13th Canadian Masonry Symposium in June 2017
Lucideon is presenting at the 13th Canadian Masonry Symposium in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, between 04 and 07 June 2017.
The symposium draws together international industry experts to discuss all things masonry, from design and construction, through to behaviour and performance. Lucideon’s Dr Geoff Edgell, Director and Principal Consultant of Construction, is presenting ‘The use of Digital Image Correlation in Masonry Research’, alongside Cliff Fudge, Technical Director at H+H UK.
Dr Edgell said:
“The Canadian Masonry Symposium is an excellent opportunity to meet dedicated construction professionals from not just Canada, but all around the world. I’m looking forward to presenting the paper with H+H UK, and providing an overview of how Digital Image Correlation (DIC) can be used by the masonry sector.
“DIC is a unique technology which can provide vital insights and understanding into the performance, durability and failure analysis of materials, products and structures when interacting with external forces, weights, strains and stresses. DIC provides full-field surface strain measurements which can be very useful when developing products or maintaining large-scale structures.”
Lucideon operates from sites in the UK and US and provides materials development and consultancy services to a wide range of industries including construction. Lucideon has dedicated structural testing laboratories and can perform large scale structural engineering projects, as well as testing and developing new materials, products and methods.
