Lucideon Sponsors Local Football Team
Lucideon has sponsored a local under 11’s football team, Whittington FC Magpies.
Whittington FC Magpies were set up a year ago by Callum Watson after he realized that the area had a number of keen young footballers but no team to play for. The club is currently managed by Callum's father, Stuart, and is playing its second season as a team.
Stuart Watson, Organics Team Leader, Lucideon said:
“This season we’ve entered into a 9-a-side league and the squad has expanded with that move, meaning that extra kits were needed. Thanks to Lucideon we have been able to provide the team with a whole new set of kits, and have passed on last season’s to a younger team, helping them reduce their costs as well.
“We play in the Lichfield District Recreational League but play teams from surrounding counties too which is great for the kids as they get out in other areas. I noticed last season that a lot of teams are sponsored by local construction firms, ones that we do a lot of work with, so I thought Lucideon would be a natural choice to sponsor our team this season, and I’m glad they thought so too. Sponsorship of the kits at this level is really all about helping us keep the costs down and building the team spirit as it gives the squad a real sense of identity”.
Lucideon grew out of the British Ceramic Research Association, later Ceram, before taking on its current identity in early 2014. Originally it served the British ceramics industry which was largely focused around the Stoke-on-Trent area, still the location of Lucideon’s HQ today. The company has grown significantly with sites on both sides of the Atlantic and state-of-the-art facilities that now serve the Healthcare, Construction, Power Generation and many more industries, including Ceramics, but continues to support local good causes.
