Lucideon Appoints Microbiologist to Continue Expansion of Pharmaceutical Sector
Rhiannon Gates has joined Lucideon to help with the growing demands in the pharmaceutical sector.
Rhiannon’s role will be to support the pharmaceutical team, working on a range of both routine and non-routine testing work in Lucideon’s state-of-the-art testing laboratories.
A University of York BSc graduate, Rhiannon has an educational background in Biology and a strong industrial background in lab work and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Dr Parmjit Bilan, Pharmaceutical Business Development Manager said: “Rhiannon is an experienced microbiologist who has worked in contract laboratories as well as manufacturing. Having an understanding of both sides is essential in serving our customers. Having worked in manufacturing helps her to understand any ‘issues’ from a manufacturing angle as well as from the testing perspective."
A leading provider of materials development, testing and assurance to a range of sectors including ceramic, construction, healthcare and power generation, Lucideon now offers a wide range of chemical and microbiological services to, but not restricted to, the pharmaceutical, veterinary and healthcare industries.
The pharmaceutical laboratories represent a £1.5 million investment as part of Lucideon’s ongoing commitment to developing its services to cater for industry demands. As well as routine testing Lucideon offers supportive analytical services such as surface analysis.
It is also opening a new facility in North Carolina to tap into the region’s acclaimed expertise in materials science, and have better access to USA markets.
The new centre is in addition to Lucideon’s facilities in South Carolina and New York State.
This new venture is part of Lucideon’s ongoing programme of investment, which will see the company increase its workforce by over 50 per cent over the next three years, with the majority of new roles based in Stoke-on-Trent.
Lucideon currently has just over 200 employees, of which a high proportion is graduates and post graduates in science and engineering.
