Dr. Radim Skapa
Expertise in: Cement Systems & Instrumental Chemical Analysis
Technical Consultant - Materials Science
Radim is an inorganic chemist by training, and holds a MSc in General Inorganic Chemistry (Masaryk University, Czech Republic) and a PhD in Portland Cement Science (University of Aberdeen).
For his research dissertation, Radim investigated the hydration chemistry of calcium sulfate acting as a setting retarder in Portland cement. From managing several research projects, Radim has extensive experience of low carbon footprint cements - magnesium silicate based and alkali activated cements (geopolymers).
Using his cement systems and instrumental chemical analysis expertise, Radim develops and tests geopolymer cements for specific industry applications, including, nuclear (waste encapsulation), ceramics and construction.
