Lucideon Provides ESOS Service for Bombardier
Bombardier is the world’s leading manufacturer of both planes and trains.
Bombardier Transportation UK Ltd is obligated to comply with the new Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), the Department of Energy and Climate Change’s interpretation, following a UK consultation, which the Lucideon Sustainability team participated in, of Article 8 of the 2012 EU Energy Efficiency Directive. http://ec.europa.eu/energy/en/topics/energy-efficiency/energy-efficiency-directive
What We Delivered
Lucideon matched Bombardier’s specific needs with the most appropriate consultant to deliver an ESOS Report which will stand up to Environment Agency scrutiny, the UK administrators.
Value to the Client
Bombardier can now relax in the knowledge that they have not only complied with the Regulation but that they also can use the findings as rationale for future resource allocation towards managing their energy consumption.
Caroline Chauvin, Environmental Specialist, Bombardier Transportation UK Ltd, "We are pleased to have the support and guidance of our ESOS Lead Assessor to build upon the foundation work we prepared internally to create a company-wide data collection system in line with the ESOS Regulation. It will be invaluable in order to identify the practical cost savings measures using life-cycle cost analysis."
Amarjit Everitt, Liaison, Customer Feedback Team, Lucideon. “The Sustainability team is happy to provide a flexible sustainability service for our varied client base from offices to large organisations like Bombardier. We listened to Caroline’s objectives from the service and matched the deliverables with our consultants with the aim of providing a service that complements Bombardier’s proactive Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in the UK.”
Richard Hipkiss, Managing Director, Digitalenergy Ltd. “Bombardier’s forward thinking and preparedness for this new regulation meant that the calculation of the total energy consumption and determination of significant energy consumption areas were already in good shape before the initial kick-off meeting. It was enjoyable to support Bombardier and deliver an ESOS Report which can be referred to when continuing their exemplar environmental practices.”
