Lucideon to Present at the Victoria Quarter Conservation Project

Lucideon is speaking at the Heritage seminar, ‘Through The Keyhole - The Victoria Quarter Conservation Project’, organized by Aura Conservation Ltd, RICS and the International Masonry Society (IMS) on 15 June 2017 at the Rose Bowl, Leeds, UK.

Lucideon’s Dr Geoff Edgell, director and principal consultant for construction, will discuss the role that testing and analysis plays in large conservation efforts.  The event will bring delegates together with the parties that performed crucial work on the Victoria Quarter conservation project.  Through case study-style presentations, delegates will gain an understanding of the whole process involved in preserving historic buildings, from purchase through to refurbishment.

Dr Geoff Edgell, said:

“The seminar will provide delegates with a valuable insight into the preservation of our historic buildings.  Gaining knowledge of the project from start to finish will enable attendees to see what is involved in these kinds of undertakings, the different options available at key stages and best practices to follow.

“I will be discussing the testing and analysis role that Lucideon played in this project.  Conducting testing and analysis throughout a project can provide very valuable insights and help to inform decisions relating to product suitability for differing degrees of exposure to the elements.”

Lucideon provides materials development, testing and analysis services to a global client base.  The company has dedicated structures testing facilities in both the UK and USA, providing both on-site and off-site testing.
