Ceram's Chief Executive Meets Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg
Tony Kinsella, Chief Executive of Ceram, was delighted to be invited to meet with Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg and Lord Heseltine at a reception for Regional Growth Fund (RGF) bid winners on 17 October.
Ceram announced its success in the RGF bidding last year. The funding will enable the development of a new energy-reducing firing technology for the ceramics industry, specifically allowing Ceram to build a kiln to scale up its testing from the laboratory to a commercial level. If the new technology is subsequently proven, it could help ceramics manufacturers to cut their energy consumption, something that the energy-intensive industry is crying out for.
Tony Kinsella said:
"It was an honour to be invited to attend the reception for Regional Growth Fund bid winners. I was glad to see that North Staffordshire was well represented, with our colleagues from Steelite, also present. We are certainly putting the area on the map and the new energy firing technology that we're developing can only help to do that by showcasing our, and the region's, commitment to manufacturing and innovation."
