Component Testing for Wind Turbines

Lucideon provides independent, third-party test data to qualify traditional and 3D printed components for use in the wind turbine industry.  Raw material and component evaluations are performed on materials ranging from resins and additive powders to corrosion-resistant alloys and blade materials to support OEMs, engineering consultancies, repair service providers and technology disrupters.

Specification testing capabilities include microstructural, chemical, thermal, mechanical, metallurgical, and electrical evaluations to qualify components for use constructed of a wide variety of materials.

If, for any reason, a component does not meet specification requirements, we can provide insight and advice on raw material selection, manufacturing, joining and processing techniques and parameters to ensure reliable compliance, and an increase in quality.

Examples of wind energy component testing include:

  • Bearings and Babbitt
  • Turbine blades
  • Rotor lead tabs
  • Tapes
  • Composites.

We also provide testing to OEM, customer-specific, and regulatory requirements.
