R4 - Refractory Design 101

This course will be available on two different dates this year:

Wednesday 22 May 2024  and  Wednesday 13 November 2024
Location: Lucideon HQ, Staffordshire

 

Have you ever questioned why around 70% of refractory failures relate to design? If your answer to this question is "yes," our training course will help you to evaluate the different aspects of design.

Course objective: To understand the concept of refractory design.

 

 

This course will look at issues around:

  • Design and modelling performance
  • Identifying the critical operating parameters
  • Considering thermal design
  • The economics of design
  • Structural design

 

 

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Identify the limitations of a design
  • Evaluate a design
  • Improve a design
