Lucideon’s most popular Whitewares Training modules taking place in May and June 2020

Lucideon have scheduled two of its most popular ceramics whitewares training sessions in May and June this year.

The one day modules, L8 - ‘Glaze and Glaze Applications’ and L9 - ‘Testing of Ceramic Materials and Products’, will take place at the Lucideon headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent.

The first and most popular course, L8, taking place on Wednesday 13 May, will cover the basic types of glazes, raw materials choices, compositions, preparation and firing applications.

L9, taking place on Wednesday 13 June covers the testing stages required in the manufacturing process from raw materials to finished product testing, that are carried out to support control on the factory; analytical tests that may be carried out to support quality control and fault solving; as well as regulatory and service performance tests.

The training is ideal for any manufacturers, and suppliers within the tableware, tile and sanitaryware sectors and also for retailers.

Caroline Mullington, technology partnership manager at Lucideon, said:

“Product testing is a critical part of any manufacturing process, whether applying it to raw materials or new or existing products. The L9 training module covers the key elements of a successful test programme, and we’ll help you to understand the testing requirements found in the ceramic manufacturing process in order to assess your ceramic products.”

Ian Campbell, senior scientist and module trainer at Lucideon, said:

“Many, if not all of the ceramic surfaces we encounter on a daily basis are coated with a glaze. These glazes can vary widely in appearance, composition and performance and can also be complicated and difficult to process. As users of glazes in the whitewares sectors, it is important to have some knowledge of glazes and producing glazed articles.”

If you are unable to attend the courses in Stoke-on-Trent, Lucideon can also deliver ceramics training either at your site or by webinar, in a virtual conference room setting.
