Ceramic Innovation Network Conference: ‘Firing up the Ceramics Industry and Exploring Sintering’ – Wednesday 1 April 2020
Lucideon, in collaboration with the British Ceramic Confederation (BCC), supported by the University of Surrey, the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) and the Frank Scott Russell Memorial Fund, is pleased to be hosting the Ceramic Innovation Network (CIN) Conference, ‘Firing up the Ceramics Industry and Exploring Sintering’. The event is taking place on Wednesday 1 April 2020, 10am – 4pm, at Lucideon’s headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
The free-to-attend event will bring together academics and industrialists from all subsectors of the ceramic industry seeking to explore the development and innovation opportunities of sintering and firing in the ceramics industry.
Speakers will include Lucideon, M&I Materials, the universities of Oxford and Leicester and Warwick Manufacturing Group.
In addition, the presentations will be followed by a tour of Lucideon's facilities and the Mellor Memorial Lecture will then be given by Roger Morrell from NPL.
Stuart MacLachlan, head of R&D at Lucideon, said: “The annual Ceramic Innovation Network meeting is a popular and growing event. This year’s provides an excellent opportunity to learn more about the development and innovation opportunities of sintering and firing. It is a great chance to meet people from industry and academia and start future collaborations.”
Lucideon has developed and is commercializing its own Flash Sintering technology. With applications across many industry sectors, Lucideon has in-house capacity for scale up to manufacturing trials.
The CIN builds upon the former Structural Ceramics Network (SCERN), which was an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) funded network, the primary purpose of which was to bring together the structural ceramics community to increase co-operation and integration.
