CICS Awarded DECC Contract
CICS is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract to certify DECC’s (Department of Energy and Climate Change) energy management system (EnMS) to ISO 50001.
Currently participating in the UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) pilot assessment programme for accreditation of certification of EnMS to ISO 50001, Lucideon is already carrying out certifications for clients.
Tim Watts, Operations Manager at CICS, says:
“We are extremely pleased to be awarded such a prestigious contract by a client who is committed to making continuous improvements in their energy performance. It is encouraging to see a Government department adopt this relatively new management systems standard and we hope that it will prompt other organizations to do the same.
“The structured routine assessment we provide will ensure that DECC’s EnMS is maintained and monitored, thereby improving the effectiveness of both their system and their processes, leading to energy and cost reduction.”
Note to Editors:
- In line with its commitments from the November 2012 Energy Efficiency Strategy, DECC’s estate is being assessed against the ISO50001 Energy Management Standard. Best practice standards such as ISO50001 help to ensure that organizations are focussed on better energy efficiency management.
