Established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) in 2008, World Accreditation Day (WAD) aims to highlight the benefits that accreditation can bring to all kinds of organisations across the globe
This year’s theme, Accreditation: Empowering Tomorrow and Shaping the Future, examines the ways in which accreditation has a positive impact on the challenges we face in the current global economy. As technological advances reshape markets and cause consumer habits to shift, accreditation allows consumers to make more informed decisions about who they do business with.
Accreditation helps organisations to demonstrate the safety and quality of their products or services, as well as their credibility and competence in their fields. Accredited conformity assessments can help with the development and implementation of new technologies, giving confidence that new products and procedures will meet the rigorous and specific requirements of their industry and markets.
Organisations are also increasingly being held accountable for their operational practices, driven in part by the needs of investors and shareholders. Lucideon CICS Limited provides accredited certification, which can be invaluable when it comes to demonstrating a genuine commitment to upholding an organisation’s quality, environmental, or health and safety obligations.
In the run up to World Accreditation Day, IAF and ILAC release a brochure, featuring case studies relating to the chosen theme for that year. Events and webinars will also be taking place throughout the day, to celebrate and raise awareness of the impact of accreditation on national and international markets and policy – if you would like more information, you can visit the IAF and ILAC websites here and here.
