Lucideon Speaking at Additive Manufacturing Conference
Lucideon will be speaking at Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy (AMPM) 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The event is running from June 13-15th 2017.
Metallurgical and additive manufacturing expert Julius Bonini of Lucideon will give his talk in the form of a technical session as he presents the topic ‘Effect of Hot Isostatic Pressing on Fatigue Properties and Particle Shedding of Additively Manufactured Ti-6Al-4V-ELI’. This is the 4th annual AMPM conference and it will bring together AM experts from a worldwide audience to discuss the latest developments within the industry.
Julius Bonini said:
“Our vast experience in materials, and in my case metals especially, is often called on to analyze material and product failures and improve processes. With the growing industry uptake of additive manufacturing we are more and more involved with assessing these processes and providing our partners with solutions to the problems that they are facing.
“With additive manufacturing still being relatively new to many people we see common issues at every stage of design and processing. At AMPM this year I will be focussing on issues seen during post-processing, namely HIPing of the commonly used titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V-ELI. Though I will expand on this somewhat to include other examples of processing issues and different metals.”
Lucideon provides materials development, testing and analysis services to a wide range of industries including healthcare, energy and aerospace and defense. Lucideon’s additive manufacturing offering includes testing and validation of additive manufactured components, process optimization and failure analysis to find the root cause of issues and to stop them reoccurring.
