Replication for Damage Assessment for Turbine Blade OEMs

Throughout their service lifetime, the surface of turbine blades can be roughened due to erosion and/or corrosion caused by particulate and chemical attack.

As blade lifetime progresses it is necessary to monitor the extent of material removal in order to effectively predict necessary maintenance intervals and termination of service life.  A non-destructive test of the extent and location of this roughness can be done by making replicas of the blade surface in the field during planned outages.  By making replica measurements and comparing the data over time, it is possible to monitor the condition of the blade surface.  Lucideon can leverage this experience to provide comprehensive support to your MRO facilities.
