Air Quality Monitoring
Air monitoring can be conducted on indoor and outdoor air samples. The monitoring can be performed utilising active techniques through pumped and grabbed sampling, or over a period of time using passive sampling; typically through absorbent tubes or a similar media.
Many everyday items such as wood products, soft furnishing and carpets emit volatile organic compounds; hence the importance of conducting indoor air quality testing. Materials can be monitored for both intended and unintended release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Workplace atmospheres also require monitoring to ensure workers are operating within a safe environment and not exposed to chemicals above set occupational exposure limits (OELs), whether from processes used or from the local environment.
