Lucideon to Deliver Masterclass at the Offsite Construction Show 2016

Lucideon has been invited to give a masterclass at the Offsite Construction Show 2016 hosted by Buildoffsite in collaboration with Marwood Events and with support from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).  The event will be held on the 12th and 13th October at ExCel in London, UK.

Dr Geoff Edgell, Director and Principal Construction Consultant at Lucideon, will deliver his masterclass on ‘Design by test and assessment - creating Innovative Solutions’ on the 13th October.  The focus will be on the importance of performing effective testing for both new and existing buildings and structures.

Geoff Edgell said:

“We do a lot of varied and interesting work at Lucideon, getting involved with all kinds of projects and at all stages.  During the masterclass I really want to highlight the benefits of testing in construction by drawing on some of the projects we have been involved in.

“By taking this approach I will be able to put into context the wide range of testing we do, the structures and materials that can be tested and the benefits that are delivered to the client.  Testing can be performed onsite or offsite and delegates will be able to get a better understanding of exactly how we manage to replicate real world conditions within our offsite structures laboratories to determine how materials and structures will perform on site.”

Lucideon performs testing, consultancy and materials development for a wide range of industries worldwide.  It has served the UK construction industry for a number of years from its dedicated structural testing facilities at its UK headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent.  Lucideon has recently entered into a collaboration with the North Carolina State University (NCSU) that will allow the company to utilise NCSU’s structural laboratories in the USA while the University benefits from industry leading expertise and knowledge.
