External Wall Insulation (EWI) Test Specification for Park Homes

Fitting External Wall Insulation (EWI) can improve both the aesthetics and thermal performance of park homes.

The majority of EWI systems currently available are designed and tested to ETAG 004; this is applicable to masonry substrates, not park homes. Consequently, it is not easy to obtain approval for the use of these systems on park homes as they are not appropriately tested.

By using our extensive experience of testing EWI systems and knowledge of product failure in service, we have designed a test specification for EWI systems to ensure they are fit for use on park homes.

The specification has been evaluated by Ofgem, and once systems have demonstrated conformance they can be guaranteed by Kinnell ECO*.

We offer two different packages for specification testing. System requirements are dependent upon the level of testing already performed.

Testing packages:

Package 1 – Compliance Upgrade
This package applies to products that have previously been tested to ETAG 004 for masonry substrates, and involves gap analysis, testing and compliance certificate.

Package 2 - Full Compliance Testing of New System
This option is for systems that have not previously been tested and incorporates all of the necessary procedures, from specification tests through to the certificate of compliance issuance (subject to the system passing the specification tests).
